FAQ
Welcome to the Irreality FAQ

Question: WTF is this shit?
Answer: Uh... The Frequently Asked Questions section for Irreality.

Question: How can you have an FAQ when you haven't posted the first... whatever yet?
Answer: I used my imagination? FAQ sounds a lot better than "A list of questions that I imagined readers might be asking themselves."

Question: Okay. I'll accept that. So, what is this "Irreality"-thing?
Answer: "Irreality" is an online, textual soap-opera that's very losely based upon THIS RPG, in which the author participated.

Question: What do you mean "very losely based"?
Answer: The only things that remain from that RPG are the idea of supernatural beings being hearded to an island off the coast of the UK and the three characters which the author played. The original RP was generally confined to werewolves and vampires; Ariel being the only exception.

Question: And you are mentioning this why?
Answer: *sighs* When the author first started work on "Irreality," she believed that RPG to be defunct. Recently, however, she was given information to the contrary, and she thought that she'd better give credit where credit is due.

Question: You know that you ripped of Lovecraft, right?
Answer: I certainly do. I also ripped off Shakespeare. However, neither character is exactly like his inspiration. For example, Lovecraft's Herbert West participated in the First World War. My Herbert West participated in the Korean War.

Question: What's with the "The Tree," "The Demon," "The Saint" things in the Cast Page?
Answer: It's kind of a nemonic device for me.

Question: There's only one vampire?
Answer: That's really not a question... but there are technically two: Dr. Cheron and his fledgling, Dr. Herbert West.

Question: But why are there so few vampires?
Answer: Ah... two reasons: in the world of "Irreality," Vampires have come to blend in so well with society, they're nearly impossible to catch. Therefore, the only way the Cherubim Project can get them is if they give themselves up. The other reason is that I don't like creating vampire characters. They're invariably over-powered and cliched.

Question: What year is it, in the world of "Irreality?"
Answer: Ah... good question. Early 21st century-- roughly 2004 c.e.

Question: Where does "Irreality" take place?
Answer: Most of the action takes place on the Isle of Rum, which is a real island off the coast of Scotland. When the action takes place at a different place or time, it will be noted, so no worries.

Question: What does the word "Irreality" mean?
Answer: It's a corruption of a French word that roughly translates as "unreal."

Question: Why are you doing this?
Answer: By "this," I assume you mean writing "Irreality." That's simple: my day-job provides no intellectual stimulation and I have to entertain myself somehow. Besides, I liked Dr. Martin West, Ariel, and Douglas, and I wanted to use them for something.

Question: Why are there blank spots in the cast profiles?
Answer: I either haven't thought of an answer yet, or the answer is a spoiler for a future episode.
