One of the young children, a little girl, planted a little tree and started to believe that it was inhabited by a dryad. The child named the dryad "Amaranth" and would put out offerings of food. When the company run by Lev Seraph bought the island for the Cherubim Project, most of the human inhabitants, including the Ioannou family, were forced off. Amaranth was unable to leave with her family, which the Ioannous thought for the best, as they didn't want their children growing up believing in such rediculous things as Dryads.

Unfortunately, not long after his arrival, he was pulled into a street-brawl, in which he was bitten by an unknown werewolf. He was taken to the local hospital with a cracked rib and minor lacerations. It was there that his new problem was discovered. He was shortly informed that due to this new problem, he was no-longer allowed to leave the island and was sent stumbling out into the night in the direction of the home of Dr. Martin West. Stuff ensued, and in the end, West couldn’t get rid of the grad-student. Douglas became his assistant—doing various chores and helping out with experiments. In general, he's an easily adaptable guy, and has come to accept his current situation, but in his quieter moments, he's known to climb up onto the roof of West's house, and gaze out over the wall that surrounds the island-- He hopes that one day he may be completely free to leave the island. And never return.

His job was generally helping the sorcerer and keeping an eye on the daughter (thus, the fondness for women). Being new to the material, several little mishaps occurred, including Ariel being swarmed by aggressive song-birds, and being pinched by a crab. He developed an intense dislike of both things. During Ariel’s seventh year in the material, a ship took shelter at the island during a great storm. The daughter ended up falling in love with one of the passengers, and all on the island departed for Europe. Not long after arriving in Europe, the sorcerer decided to give up his trade and release Ariel. Unfortunately, by the wording of his spell, the sorcerer did not release Ariel back to the immaterial, and left a number of his coercion spells in place. Notably, the one that forbade Ariel to cross any body of water without the explicit direction of an employer of some sort.

Werewolves? Vampires? Faeries? Oh, my!
They roam wild in our city streets, encouraging our children to believe in immortality, magic, and all things unreal.
The Cherubim Project is dedicated to safeguard the children, and keep them grounded in reality, by humanely capturing these creatures, and giving them a safe place away from society and normal, real life.
We're located on the charming Isle of Rum in Scotland...
The creatures are housed, at first, in our medical facility in downtown Kinioch, and once they become acclimated to life on Rum, they can move out into the city or surrounding countryside, and choose to take employment...
The Cherubim Project is headed by known philanthropist, Lev Seraph...
